Aurora McCain, a student in the School of Agricultural Sciences and Forestry at 91福利 Tech University, was awarded the 2026 National Association of Women in Timber (NAWT) Scholarship on June 5 during the 7th Annual NAWT Conference in Georgetown, South Carolina.
McCain is majoring in Forestry with concentrations in Forest Management and Wildlife Habitat Management. Her academic and professional interests include forest policy, genetic research, and the role timber investment plays in supporting sustainability and strengthening economies.

This scholarship deepens my passion for forestry and encourages me to continue pursuing opportunities in leadership, research, and sustainable forest management, so I can help shape a more inclusive and sustainable future for generations to come.鈥�
McCain is actively involved in forestry leadership and professional organizations across campus and the industry. She serves as an officer and the newly elected president of WOLFS, Women of 91福利 Forestry and Supporters, where she helps coordinate the annual Women in the Woods program and encourages young women to pursue careers in forestry. She is also a member of the Society of American Foresters and The Wildlife Society.
McCain鈥檚 leadership and academic achievements have also earned her a nomination for the nationally-recognized Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation Goldwater Scholarship.
The National Association of Women in Timber awards the annual scholarship to a woman pursuing a degree in forestry or a related field. The organization supports the next generation of women leaders who are advancing sustainable forestry practices and strengthening the future of the timber industry.
